Rolan, don't give up Thunderfury!

0
Okay, I was bored and since Rolan/Kwa were lamenting about [Thunderfury, Blessed Blade of the Windseeker] I decided to do some maths.

My assumptions:
- TF procs 20% of the time for 300 dmg (the currently accepted rate is somewhere between 20-25%).
- All resists are full (I couldn't be bothered working with partials).

Nature Portion:
16-30 nature dmg.
(16 + 30)/2 = 23 avg dmg per swing.
23/1.9 speed = 12.1 avg dps.

Proc:
300 * 20% proc = 60 avg dmg per swing
60 / 1.9 = 31.5 avg dps

Total: 53.9 + 12.01 + 31.5 = 97.5 dps with 0 resists.

Scenario one:
Nature portion of the damage and the proc resist at 20% (a figure pulled out of my ass).

Nature Portion: 12.1 * 0.8 = 9.6 (expressing 20% resist as doing 80% of normal dmg)
Proc: 31.5 * 0.8 = 25.2
Total: 53.9 + 9.6 + 25.2 = 88.7

Scenario two - 50% resist (another figure pulled from out there):

Nature Portion: 12.1 * 0.5 = 6
Proc: 25.2 * 0.5 = 12.6
Total: 53.9 + 6 + 12.6 = 72.5 dps.

With all that said. I rounded down at every step, I'm ignoring the fact that it generates extra aggro, reduces the attack speed of mobs wailing on you and I used a stupidly high resist rate of 50%.

Please correct me if my maths sucks.

unfortunately, thunderfury is old news as a main boss tanking weapon. I have already passed thru no less thatn 6 weapons that exceed thunderfury's capabilites. However, tanking multiple non elite mobs , thunderfury's proc still owns.
